LaTroy Wagner earns Jefferson County’s first Star Citizen Award

LaTroy Wagner wins the first Jefferson County Star Citizen Award.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has made it their goal to recognize individuals who live, work, or own businesses in Jefferson County and who are outstanding citizens. It’s the pleasure of the Sheriff’s Office to announce that LaTroy Wagner has been chosen to receive the May 2018 Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Star Citizen Award for his outstanding accomplishments as a high school student and a community volunteer.

Wagner is a senior at McAdory High School in McCalla, Alabama. He regularly volunteers his time to various organizations and has spent time doing community clean-up in his neighborhood. He currently maintains a 4.1 GPA while working a part-time job.

Wagner is a member of the National Honor Society, the Math Honor Society – MU ALPHA THETA, “A” Club at McAdory, and has logged over 100 hours volunteering for work at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Talk of Alabama and ABC 33/40 are proud to recognize Wagner as an outstanding Jefferson County Star Citizen.
