WASHINGTON (SBG) – It seems Kanye West is back in the running for the 2020 election.

Oklahoma officials tweeted Wednesday that the Grammy-winning rapper is, in fact, going to appear on the state's general election ballot this November and made the deadline in the nick of time.

In addition, West tweeted Friday that he was looking for signatures on a petition to place him on the South Carolina ballot:

His political advisor Steve Kramer told New York Magazine's "The Intelligencer" just this week that West was taking his hat out of the ring, which left a lot of Twitter users scratching their heads and wondering why the sudden reversal.

"Running for president has to be one of the hardest things for someone to actually contemplate at that level," Kramer told The Intelligencer, adding that every first-time candidate faces significant obstacles.

West originally took to social media to announce his candidacy on July 4, tweeting, "We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States!"

He said in an interview with Forbes Magazine that he would run the White House like the nation of Wakanda from "Black Panther." West also distanced himself from President Donald Trumpin that same interview, who he previously supported.

It's unclear what's coming next, as the rapper hasn't said much on how his campaign is going. West has flirted with a run for president on more than one occasion, including during a White House visit with Trump in 2018.
