Police: Suspect in fatal apartment shooting interviewed, released; victim identified

    Update (2/14): The Jefferson County District Attorney's Office has decided not to issue arrest warrants at this time.

    Original: The suspect in a fatal apartment shooting Thursday afternoon has been interviewed and released, Hoover Police officers confirm.

    The unidentified man is suspected of shooting a 29-year-old man to death at Nine90 Wisteria Apartments around 3 p.m. Police have not identified the victim.

    Witnesses told police the shooting occurred during an argument between two men in the parking lot of the 1300 building. The victim walked to his car, where he grabbed a handgun. After he approached the suspect, shots were fired.

    Detectives interviewed the suspect and released him after consulting with the Jefferson County District Attorney's office. The suspect's release is pending further investigation.
