1 hospitalized, suspect in custody after shooting at The Hangout in Gulf Shores

GULF SHORES, Ala. (WEAR) — One person was taken to the hospital and another person is in custody after a shooting at The Hangout in Gulf Shores Monday night, according to the Gulf Shores Police Department.

The shooting took place after 9 p.m. at The Hangout on 101 E. Beach Boulevard.

According to police, the incident began with a fight between a mixture of juveniles and adults. Gunshots were then fired.

"When Officers arrived they located one victim suffering from multiple gun shot wounds," police say in a release. "The suspect was located a short distance away and taken into custody."

Police say the suspect is a 21-year-old man.

The victim was transported from the scene and is currently in stable condition.

An investigation is ongoing.
