15-year-old killed in accidental shooting in Decatur

A 15-year-old was killed in an accidental shooting on August 3, 2021, according to the Decatur Police Department.

Police were called to the 400 block of Pine Avenue SW in response to a shooting. When they arrived, they found the body of a 15-year-old.

During the investigation, officers learned that other juveniles were inside the home with the victim, and it appears two of the juveniles were playing with a loaded gun when it discharged, killing the victim.
