2 Gadsden women charged with chemical endangerment of a child
ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. —
Two women are facing charges of chemical endangerment of a child in unrelated incidents last week.
Brittany Ann Spurling, 20, tested positive for cocaine while pregnant, according to Etowah County Sheriff's Office. Spurling also faces felony charges for possession of a forged instrument and outstanding warrants from other authorities.
Etowah County Sheriff's Office says Morgane LeeAnn Whitt, 20, tested positive for amphetamines and methamphetamine while pregnant. She was arrested on June 30 and also faces charges for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Both Spurling and Whitt were booked into the Etowah County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond for the chemical endangerment warrant. The suspects must complete a drug treatment program as a condition of their bond.
