2 killed, 1 injured in Blount County crash

BLOUNT COUNTY, Ala. — The Blount County Sheriff's Office confirms two people died and another was injured in a head-on collision Wednesday.

State Troopers say 72-year-old James Kenneth Sims and his wife Dorothy died when they collided head-on with another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle, 21-year-old Jacob Chase Doyle, was airlifted to UAB Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

The crash happened on Skyline Drive four miles West of Hayden around 8:45 p.m.
