2 teens killed in Oporto Madrid Blvd crash identified

Memorial Day crash claims two lives

Birmingham Police and Fire responded to a two-vehicle crash that left two dead Monday.

Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Johnny Long identified the victims as 16-year-old Quinton Lavell Jackson Jr. and 14-year-old Jhalien Hargrove.

Authorities say one of the teens was driving a Hyundai Elantra when he lost control and crossed into oncoming traffic hitting an SUV.

The crash happened on the Oporto Madrid Blvd. bridge up from 65th Street South around 11 a.m.

Two women also suffered serious injuries in the crash. Their conditions are not known.

Multiple rescue crews responded to the crash site.
