7 arrested on marijuana, loitering and gun charges at Center Point apartment complex
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. —
Seven people were arrested at a Center Point apartment complex Sunday on marijuana, loitering and gun charges.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to the 1900 block of East Bend Circle on reports a group of men were smoking marijuana and holding firearms near a Chevrolet Impala.
Authorities say when deputies arrived one man was spotted exiting the vehicle and hiding a bag of marijuana underneath it. Several other men were seen getting out of the vehicle, one of which had a handgun tucked into his waistband. Authorities searched the vehicle and recovered a rifle, three handguns and a grocery bag containing marijuana.
All of the men were identified and now face the following charges:
Roderick Dawon Lewis, 22, faces charges of unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a pistol without a license.
David Mitchell, 22, faces a charge of carrying a pistol without a license
Deadrian Martin, 22, faces a charge of loitering for drug activity
In addition, four people below the age of 21 face a charge of loitering for drug activity.
