BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBMA) — Two men were arrested in connection to a crash that injured several people in Birmingham late last year.
The Birmingham Police Department said the crash was the result of exhibition driving and close to 20 people were injured in the December 2022 incident.

Police said 19-year-old Marvin Puerto and 24-year-old Brandon Waller were charged with multiple counts of second-degree assault.
On the night of the incident, police said detectives responded to the area of John Rogers Drive at Brownlee Hills Road and began their investigation.

Police said detectives believe a Nissan 350 Z, driven by Puerto, was engaged in street racing when it collided with a Dodge Charger, driven by Waller.
Police said the Dodge Charger was engaged in exhibition driving, which included "donuts" and "burnouts."
Both men were booked into the Jefferson County Jail.
