Alabama shelters help rescue pets lost in Hurricane Florence

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Alabamians continue to help Hurricane Florence survivors in the Carolina's.

Local shelters are doing their part to help pets who weathered the storm. Over the past few days, dozens have been sent on transfer vans to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, with many needing medical care.

Veterinarians are giving exams to each of them. They will be available for adoption by next week.
