Alabaster residents told to boil water before use
The Alabaster Water Board has issued a Boil Water Notice to all Alabaster Water customers for a minimum of 48 hours.
The notice comes because of a water main break and loss of pressure along Highway 31 and Highway 68.
Crews are working to restore service as soon as possible.
In a release, the water board says that users should follow these important steps to ensure water is safe to use.
- Bring tap water to a rolling boil
- Boil for one minute
- Cool before using
People in Alabaster should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and food preparation.
If residents have any questions, they are asked to call Alabaster Water at 205-663-6155.
