Anniston police investigating homicide stemming from likely domestic violence

CALHOUN COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — Sgt Kyle Price of Anniston Police said detectives were investigating a homicide believed to be from a domestic violence situation.

The homicide happened on Friday, Audust 2 around 9pm on West 20th Street.

Officers were responding to a call about shots fired and found the victim, 43-year-old Tandra Ellington suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Michael Anthony Brown, 56, was charged with her murder after turning himself in and confessing.

Brown was in Calhoun County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
