Birmingham man dies two days after being shot

    Birmingham man succumbs to injury after being shot in the head on July 5, 2018.

    A call to Birmingham Police originally dispatched as an assault call is now a homicide investigation.

    According to the Birmingham Police Department, around 10:30 Thursday night, officers responded to a shooting call in the 100 block of Oporto-Madrid Boulevard. When they arrived they found 63-year-old Spencer Burch, in a van, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

    Burch died from his injury Saturday afternoon at UAB Hospital.
