Birmingham police: 15-year-old accidentally shot himself while playing with friends

Authorities say the 15-year-old victim accidentally shot himself while playing with friends. He is being treated at Children's of Alabama.

Birmingham police are investigating a shooting in the Wylam area that sent a teenager to the hospital.

Police said a 15-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest in the 600 block of Cambridge Street. The victim was taken to Children's of Alabama. Their condition is unknown at this time.

No arrests have been made.
