BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBMA) — A Birmingham woman was indicted in the shooting death of her unborn child today.
27-year-old Marshae Jones was indicted for Manslaughter by a Jefferson County Grand Jury.
Jones did not fire the shots that killed her unborn child, however authorities said she started the fight that eventually led to the gunfire.
The shooting happened about noon on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, outside a Dollar General store on Park Road.
Jones, who was five months pregnant at the time, was shot in the stomach. Her unborn baby didn't survive.
The original suspect at the time, Ebony Jemison, was charged with murder and attempted murder but those charges were dropped.
