Body found in West Birmingham parking lot

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Birmingham Police found the body of a woman in a parking lot on Cotton Avenue Friday around 1:30 a.m in West Birmingham.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office said there are no apparent signs of physical trauma and that she could have been on the street for several hours.

Police have not released information pertaining to the hours preceding her death.

No official cause of death has been determined, nor has the coroner's office confirmed her death is drug related.

Foul play has not been ruled out.
