Brookside Police make DUI arrest after short chase
Yashinari Effinger was charged with DUI, reckless endangerment, attempting to elude police, and reckless driving after leading police on a chase Wednesday.
Brookside Police noticed Effinger driving erratically and at extreme speeds on Bivins Brookside Road. At one point, she crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic, almost hitting a daycare van full of children. While officers tried to stop her, she continued for another mile and a half at a high rate of speed before safely coming to a stop at the intersection with Cherry Avenue.
Effinger was armed with a .38 revolver and a 12 gauge shotgun, which could lead to additional charges.
