Company doing work on Colonial Pipeline has history of safety violations


We confirmed through OSHA that the excavator operator who struck the pipeline on Oct. 31 was employed by LE Bell Construction Company in Heflin.

That company has had 8 safety violations between 2009 and 2013 in Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi.

OSHA considers 5 of those violations to be serious—three of them involved excavation work.
