Coroner seeks relatives of homicide victim on 7th Ave

BIRMINGHAM, AL — The Jefferson County Coroner is asking for the public's assistance locating a homicide victim's family.

53-year-old Michael Shane Stepp was found unresponsive on 7th Avenue South at 1:45 a.m. November 29.

Stepp is believed to be from Baldwin County and may have family in Fairhope or Mobile.

Stepp is 5 foot 7 feet tall and weighs 133 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call the coroner's office at 205-930-3603.

A suspect is in custody in connection with Stepp's death.
