ABC News confirms the Lower Keys Medical Center in Florida is evacuating 11 patients on Wednesday September 6th to Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

The patients will first be taken by Monroe County Fire Rescue and Key West Fire Rescue to Naval Air Station Key West's Boca Chica Airfield before flying out to Gadsden Regional.

A representative from Gadsden Regional says the patient exchange was made possible because Lower Keys Medical Center is a sister hospital.

The two other hospitals in Florida's Monroe County will make a decision later this afternoon on when to close.
