A bank robbery suspect is in custody today after being shot at by a customer Monday morning.
Homewood Police took the man into custody around 10:30 a.m. Monday. A lieutenant investigating the robbery told ABC 33/40 the man walked into the Wells Fargo on W. Valley Avenue to demand money.
A bank teller complied and the man ran out of the bank with the money. The lieutenant says one of the bank customers inside the bank saw what happened and shot his own weapon at the robber. The robber was not hit.
Officers did catch the man once he tried coming outside of the bank.
Officers returned the bank's money.
Police will release the name once the man is charged.
