Man arrested, facing several charges in December 6th homicide
Brandon K. Phillips has been charged with murder, attempted murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and shooting into an occupied dwelling. These charges are related to a homicide investigation that started on December 6, 2018.
The Bessemer Police Department was called to Center Street near Chestnut Avenue on December 6, 2018 at approximately 10:00 P.M. on reports of a person being shot. When they arrived, officers found Mac Wayne Early dead from gunshot wounds. The scene was secured and processed by evidence technicians.
During the investigation, it was determined that Early had been involved in an argument before the shooting. After speaking with witnesses and reviewing evidence, multiple charges were filed on Phillips.
On December 13, 2018, Phillips was arrested and taken to the Jefferson County Jail Bessemer Division with a total bond of $550,000.
