JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala (WBMA) — According to the Brookside Police Department, Rodney "Big 30" Wright of Memphis, Tennessee was arrested on multiple drug charges on Thursday, October 1.
Police said around 4:00 a.m., Brookside Narcotics Interdiction officers stopped a Ford Expedition rental car traveling westbound on Interstate 22 near Cherry Avenue.

Police said the driver of the car was identified as L. Foster of Decatur, Georgia and Wright was the passenger.
The two were said to be traveling from Atlanta to Memphis when they were stopped.
Upon investigation, police said over $17,000 in cash was found in addition to a loaded Glock 40 handgun, Controlled Substances: Promethazine & Codeine, and marijuana individually packaged for sale in Wright’s Possession.
Police said a bag of marijuana was also found on Foster and both passengers were taken to the Brookside Jail.

Foster was charged with misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana and was released on bond.
Brookside police reported that Wright is an alleged gang member and rapper who has pending charges from Tennessee and is being held for out-of-state extradition.
Wright was charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana 1st, Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of Firearm, with additional charges pending the conclusion of the investigation.
Wright was transferred to the Jefferson County Jail on Saturday, October 3.
Police said both subjects were cooperative with the investigation.
