BLOUNT COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — One person was killed Thursday from an overturned tanker accident on Highway 79 in Blountsville, according to deputies.
The crash happened at 2:02 p.m. according to Alabama Troopers that worked the scene.
At this time the cause of the crash is undetermined.
The victim was 47-year-old John Bryant Cox from Blountsville.
The truck was carrying explosive materials used in mining operation, all were contained within the truck even after the roll over.
One passenger had minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
