Police: Pot traffickers jailed on $1.5M bond each after $52k drug bust

Two men were arrested and booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail following a marijuana bust Monday, March 12th.

Gordon Shannon, 31, and Jeffery Warren, 32, both of Georgia, were arrested for trafficking marijuana following a three-month investigation by Alabama Narcotics Task Force (ATF) agents.

Tuscaloosa Police investigators say the pair had been involved in trafficking large amounts of marijuana from Atlanta to Tuscaloosa.

Police were able to take the suspects into custody following a police chase involving two cars near Exit 80 on Interstate 20/59 South. A drug detection dog led alerted police to 15 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $52,000 in the back seat of one of the cars.

The men were each jailed on a $1.5 million bond.
