ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — A 28-year-old Altoona woman was arrested and charged for chemical endangerment of a child, according to the Etowah County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office said Shawna Brooke McCright is currently pregnant and has tested positive for opiates.
McCright is being held on a $10,000 cash bond.

McCright was officially charged with chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed, which authorities said is a felony.
The sheriff's office noted that McCright also had a previous charge of Chemical Endangerment with a different pregnancy and was placed on Community Corrections.
