HOOVER, Ala. — A man who has organized protests of the fatal officer-involved mall shooting on Thanksgiving night was arrested Tuesday night.
Hoover Police officers arrested Carlos Chaverst Jr., 25, on three warrants for disorderly conduct and another for loitering, all of which are in reference to previous protests. Chaverst was participating in a protest outside the Hoover City Jail at the time of his arrest.
Chaverst bonded out of jail shortly after his arrest, rejoining the protesters in chanting "If we don't get it, shut it down."
Chaverst is the fifth person to have been arrested in relation to protests of EJ Bradford Jr.'s shooting death by a Hoover Police officer.
This is a developing story, which will be updated with additional details as they are available.
