Report: Hearing scheduled in Anniston city councilman's election fraud lawsuit
A hearing is scheduled for Wednesday in the election fraud lawsuit filed by former Anniston city councilman Seyram Selase.
According to a report by The Anniston Star, Selase's attorney claims to have a woman who admitted to fraudlently signing witness affidavits on absentee ballots for Selase's opponent, current councilman Ben Little.
Little defeated Selase in an October runoff election. The legal battle is not the first between the two men. Little filed an election fraud lawsuit in 2012 claiming Selase's campaign intimidated voters. The case was later dismissed.
Little has faced controversy since taking office. Last month The Anniston Star published an editorial calling for the councilman to resign after he compared a colleague to Nazi leader Adolph Hitler.
