Sheriff: 24-year-old woman fatally shot Tuscaloosa man after argument
TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. —
A 24-year-old woman who admitted to a Tuscaloosa man's shooting death has been charged with murder, Tuscaloosa Sheriff's deputies confirm.
Deputies discovered 51-year-old Lester Stevenson dead inside a home on 4133 67th Avenue while performing a welfare check. After interviewing several witnesses, investigators located the suspect, Kiara Monique Harton, who they say admitted to the crime.
She told investigators she shot Stevenson after an argument. Harton will be held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail pending a $150,00 bond.
This is the fifth murder the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office Violent Crimes Unit has investigated this year.
