Sheriff's office helicopter makes emergency landing

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing Thursday afternoon after coming in contact with power lines while searching for a missing kayaker.

In a news release, the sheriff's office says that the incident happened just after 1:00 P.M. while they were assisting law enforcement agencies in St. Clair County.
