Original: Cullman County authorities confirm a wanted suspect was involved in a shooting with an officer during an incident in Holly Pond Friday night.

The shooting occurred near Pleasant View Baptist Church off U.S. Highway 278.

Cullman County deputies had been following up on a burglary case from earlier in the day involving 35-year-old Tei Ti Taimi as a potential suspect. Investigators were speaking with Taimi when he reportedly barricaded himself in his home and made threats against law enforcement.

Authorities say Taimi and an unidentified man then rammed through the garage doors of the home, striking an investigator's vehicle before an officer-involved shooting occurred. No officers were injured in the shooting; it is believed the suspects are also unharmed. SBI officers have been called in to investigate the officer-involved shooting.

Authorities are currently searching for 35-year-old Tei Ti Taimi and the unidentified man. Sheriff's officials say Taimi wrecked his car in Walter on Highway 91 and took off on foot. Taimi was last seen wearing a black motorcycle jacket and a grey hoodie.
