TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama State Troopers are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred Friday night, which claimed two lives.
Senior Trooper Reginal King said the crash occurred when a pickup collided head-on with a 2011 Buick Enclave driven by Jeffry Earl Boles, 54, of Brent.
Trooper King said Boles, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center, where he died a short time later.
The pickup caught fire causing fatal injury to the driver.
The driver's identity is pending positive identification by the Alabama Department of Forensic Science.
The crash occurred at 10:59 p.m. on U.S. 82 near the 64 mile marker, approximately nine miles east of Tuscaloosa.
Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
