Talladega Superspeedway offers refuge to Irma evacuees

Talladega Superspeedway crews prepare for Hurricane Irma evacuees (ABC 33/40)

Beginning the morning of Thursday September 6th, Talladega Superspeedway will open parts of its campgrounds to Hurricane Irma evacuees seeking temporary refuge.

The free accommodations include hot shower and restroom facilities, as well as water hookups on gravel and grassy areas.

Evacuees are invited to bring their campers, trailers, and other vehicles to the Winner's Walk I reserved RV area outside of turn one. Signs around the main entrance will provide directions to the reserved campgrounds. Dump stations are located on the premises as well.

The Talladega Superspeedway Chairman Grant Lynch stressed that the amenities provided are completely free, saying "Our track is committed to helping our friends in Florida and the surrounding states during this time of need."
