University of Alabama leaders including school President Dr. Stuart Bell and Athletics Director Greg Byrne are set to announce significant facilities upgrades.

ABC 33/40 has learned the 11:45 a.m. news conference will also include Coach Nick Saban as details are released on renovations to Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The upgrades are expected to include the addition of several luxury boxes, including special field-level boxes for fans.

Last year, the athletics department emailed a questionnaire to donors asking how much money they would pay for certain styles of luxury boxes. The questioning included restroom and alcohol options as well and how much the donor would be willing to pay for private restrooms in luxury boxes and access to alcohol that the fan would provide.

Significant changes are expected to be announced involving Coleman Coliseum after several studies were conducted at Byrne's request.

University officials declined to offer ABC 33/40 specifics regarding the announcement.

However, ABC 33/40’s news partner, the Tuscaloosa News reports the plan include the slight reduction of seating, addition of a video board in the south end zone and luxury boxes.

The project, labeled “The Crimson Standard’ will be unveiled at a news conference Thursday morning.

ABC 33/40 will stream the news conference live on ABC3340.com
