The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a double homicide that happened early Sunday morning in the Oakwood Place neighborhood in west Birmingham.

Officers were dispatched to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1800 block of Fulton Ave. SW just before 2:30 a.m. Before they arrived, police were told a man had been shot at the residence.

When they got to the scene, officers found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims were identified as 28-year-old Damon Thomas and 24-year-old Jacquic Little.

Police said there are limited details connected to the case. No one is currently in custory.
