Jacksonville and Southside city officials are putting together clean-up events after an EF-3 tornado caused extensive damage in both areas.

Jacksonville officials have asked volunteers to hold off on beginning clean-up efforts until Friday to allow Alabama Power to safely and quickly work in the area.

Interested volunteers can sign up for this weekend's community-wide clean-up at the Jacksonville Community Center from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. or click HERE to download the disaster volunteer registration forms. For more information, call (256) 435-8115 or visit the Calhoun County EMA's website.

Southside cleanup efforts will be organized at the Community Center all morning on Wednesday. Citizens are highly encouraged to bring saws, chainsaws and gloves and/or other tools. Make sure to bring safety equipment. The Community Center can be reached at (256) 442-0105.

Those who wish to donate to tornado relief efforts can click the link below to contribute to The Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama's Disaster Response Fund. 100 percent of the money raised will go to toward disaster recovery.
