WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder found guilty on misdemeanor marijuana charge
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. —
WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder was found guilty of a misdemeanor marijuana charge after pleading not guilty on Thursday, January 11th.
Wilder, 32, was arrested in June 2017 on a second degree marijuana possession charge in Tuscaloosa.
Wilder has been sentenced to two years of unsupervised probation and was fined $500. There is a 30-day suspension of his sentence.
Wilder will also be required to complete a court referral program and 60 hours of community service at Benjamin Barnes YMCA.
The heavyweight champion will have 14 days to appeal his sentence.
