JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. — A 33-year-old Sylvan Springs woman is charged in connection with her husband's shooting death.
Saturday night, deputies responded to the 200 block of Oak Lane in Sylvan Springs on reports a wife shot her husband. When deputies arrived, they found 41-year-old Keith Hilyer dead at the scene.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says Keith and his wife, Amanda Hilyer, were arguing when she broke into a neighbor's vehicle, stole a handgun and used it to shoot her husband.
Amanda Hilyer is charged with murder, unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle and 2nd degree theft of property. She is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on $100,000 bond.
