WASHINGTON (SBG) – Twitter temporarily limited Donald Trump Jr.'s account Tuesday after he tweeted a video that violated the company's policies on coronavirus misinformation.
The video in question, published by the right-wing media outlet Breitbart News, showed a group of doctors making false claims about the coronavirus and was removed from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube after going viral on Monday, CNN reports.
Trump Jr. originally posted the video Monday night with the caption, "This is a much watch!! So different from the narrative that everyone is running with."
His spokesperson confirmed the flagging of the tweet, showing a screen shot in which Twitter says the post "violated the policy on spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19."
President Donald Trump retweeted versions of the video but did not upload a version of the video to the site as his son did. A company spokesperson told CNN that's the reason Twitter only took action against Trump Jr.'s account.
The 12-hour limited functionality of his account means Trump Jr. can still browse the site but cannot tweet, retweet, like posts or follow new users.
