Christie's lunch with Trump: 'Chris, you and I are going to have the meatloaf'

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie detailed his Valentine’s Day lunch with President Donald Trump on a sports radio show Thursday.

Appearing on WFAN 660-AM’s “Boomer & Carton Show,” Trump’s one-time rival for the Republican nomination said he and his wife joined the president for lunch in his private dining room.

"This is what it's like to be with Trump,” Christie said. “He says, ‘There's the menu, you guys order whatever you want.’”

Before Christie could order, though, Trump made the decision for him.

“Chris, you and I are going to have the meatloaf,” the president said, according to Christie.

“I’m telling you, the meatloaf is fabulous,” Trump reportedly added.

Christie denied host Craig Carton’s suggestion that the experience was emasculating.

“Another man tells you what you eat and you eat it? Not acceptable. I don’t care who he is,” Carton said.

Christie said he and Trump did not discuss a potential White House role for him.

Social media users, who mocked the governor mercilessly for his uncomfortable endorsement of Trump during the campaign, were endlessly amused by the prospect of the president telling him what to eat.

Christie’s wife was allowed to order pumpkin ravioli.
