Other police departments challenge Florida cops' viral selfie
WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) —
A selfie posted to the Facebook of the Gainesville Police Department in Florida Sunday went viral after attracting flirtatious comments.
Now, other police departments across the country are following their lead.
In Knoxville, Tennessee, the local police department up the ante by including a dog in their pic.
And in Pembroke Pines, Florida, officers made it personal by recreating the Gainesville cops' snap.
In Sarasota, Florida, the officers turned to props and posed alongside a police Hummer.
Not to be outdone, Gainesville countered with more pictures of their model-esque officers.
Who's the winner? You be the judge!
While debating, also consider donating to Gainesville Police Department's Hurricane Irma recovery fund. After attaining social media fame, the officers established a donation platform through the Community Foundation of North Central Florida to collect donations to assist Gainesville-area victims: https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/gpdhurricaneirma
