Auburn in middle of it's best SEC Tournament run in 20 years
HOOVER, Ala. —
Two wins in two days has Auburn baseball working for the weekend at the SEC Tournament.
The Tigers beat Kentucky in extra innings on Tuesday and used a late rally to beat Ole Miss on Wednesday. It's the first time Auburn has won two games in the SEC Tournament, in it's current venue at the Hoover Met, since 2003.
It's the first time it's started the SEC Tournament with back-to-back wins since 1999.
"It's good for us. It's good for Auburn," coach Butch Thompson said. "It's good for our baseball program to play well in this tournament. We've tried to make this a big deal that this is an important tournament and an important week. And we've played well enough at least in two days."
Auburn plays Texas A&M on Thursday afternoon. The game is scheduled for 4:30 and the winner advances to the quarterfinal round of the SEC Tournament.
