Auburn Softball Coach Clint Myers abruptly retires

On August 3rd, Auburn Softball Coach Clint Myers announced his retirement after a coaching career that spanned 40 years.

Myers began coaching at Auburn in 2013, compiling a record of 205-54-1. Myers led the team to the Southeastern Conference Tournament Championships in 2015 and 2016 as well as to back-to-back College World Series appearances.

During Myers' time at Auburn he broke 23 records, with 17 of them on offense.

Myers says he reached his decision to retire after "reflecting on the importance of spending quality time" with his family.

Auburn University says the search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
