Former Auburn assistant joins football staff at Georgia
ATHENS, Ga —
Scott Fountain is sticking around the SEC.
The former Auburn assistant, who coached tight ends and special teams, is joing Kirby Smart's staff at Georgia. Fountain's wife announced the move on Facebook. It's unclear what role he'll serve with the Bulldogs.
Auburn did not renew Fountain's contract after last season, following eight seasons with the football program. He was the Tigers player personnel director (2009-12) before earning an on-field role as the special teams coordinator and tight ends coach (2013-16).
Auburn promoted Tim Horton, adding special teams coordinator to his role of running backs coach. Larry Porter was hired to be the new tight ends/H-backs coach and the Tigers recruiting coordinator.
