JSU athletes step up in community "clean-up" projects

Student-athletes at Jacksonville State University take part in community service projects in the wake of last week's heavy storm damage in east Alabama (

Jacksonville State athletes gave their support their city, and their teammate.

JSU football and softball programs spent Monday afternoon cleaning up around campus, including the softball complex and Merrill Hall. Football players also joined place kicker Cade Stinnett, and helped clear debris and tree limbs at the home of Stinnett's mother.

Last week, the city of Jacksonville was hit hard by tornado force winds and severe weather, causing damage to homes and buildings on and around Jacksonville State University.
