UAB head football coach agrees to 5-year contract extension
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
UAB Athletics Director Mark Ingram announced Friday that the Blazer's head coach Bill Clark agreed to a 5-year contract extension that will last throughout the 2022 season.
Clark's compensation will start out at $900,000, reaching $1,015,000 over the contract period.
"UAB Football is enjoying great success on and off the field under Coach Clark's leadership. We are very optimistic about our future and look forward to Coach Clark being here for a long time," Ingram said.
Halfway through the season, Coach Clark is 11-9 overall, a stark improvement from the 5-19 team he inherited. Clark is one win away from having the Blazers become bowl eligible in each of his first two years as coach.
Clark is 22-13 overall as a Division I head coach.
The multi-year coaching agreement is currently subject to final approval by the UAB Board of Trustees.
