UAB's Bill Clark named 2018 Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year
Following UAB football's best season in program history, Coach Bill Clark was named as the 2018 Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year.
In a release, Coach Clark said:
I am truly humbled to receive the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award and would like to thank the Football Writers Association of America and the Allstate Sugar Bowl for this prestigious recognition. This honor is the epitome of a team effort and it would not have been possible without the countless hours of the entire staff and the relentless motivation from our student-athletes in striving to make history every day. UAB football would also like to thank the entire city of Birmingham for its tremendous support throughout this journey and making it possible for us to take the field each and every Saturday.
In the midst of UAB's best season in program history which includes winning the Conference USA Championship and reaching the 10-win plateau for the first time, the Football Writers Association of America and the Allstate Sugar Bowl have announced head coach Bill Clark as the Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year recipient.
Clark led UAB to their first ever Conference USA Championship and set the program record for wins in a season at 10.
Since UAB's return to football, Clark has led to an overall record of 18-8 and a league mark of 14-3, including the championship game
