Bama football player removed from team after domestic violence arrest

Former Alabama football player Donnie Lee Jr. (Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office).

Wide receiver Donnie Lee Jr. has been removed from the Alabama football team after his October 19th arrest on a domestic violence charge.

According to the Tuscaloosa County Arrest Database, Lee was charged with third degree domestic violence and received a $300 speeding ticket.

Lee's bond for the domestic violence charge was set at $1,000.

Head coach Nick Saban released the following statement in response to Lee's arrest:

Donnie Lee Jr., a walk-on who has not been participating in team activities since a knee injury in August, has been dismissed from our football team and is no longer part of our program. This behavior will not be tolerated from anyone and is not representative of our football program.
