Dre Kirkpatrick treated kids from his hometown of Gadsden to a shopping spree.

The former Tide football star turned 19 kids loose at Shoe Carnival and Old Navy. The young students were also treated to lunch at Black Stone Pub and Eatery.

It is one of the cornerstone projects of Kirkpatrick's "21 Kids Foundation", because footwear is where it is at for 'Dre.

"I just feel like, there is nothing like having a fresh pair of kicks on your feet," Kirkpatrick said. "That's one of my obsessions. I just felt like that would be something pretty cool, that kids would be able to come in here and pick out any shoe they want"

Kirkpatrick has played his entire six year career with the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals. Last season, he started 14 games at cornerback and finished with 55 total tackles and a career-high 14 passes defensed.
